17 grams of protein
15 grams of fiber
Lentils are such a great source of iron, zinc, potassium and phosphorus. I make Dal Tadka at least twice a month, even more in the cold weather months. In addition to being a nutritious dish. It is a delicious satisfying dish. Foods high in protein and fiber keep you full longer. The amazing benefits of fiber are listed on my blog: Fabulous Fiber!
This is such a great recipe by Vaishali! She is the author and recipe creator of the Holy Cow Blog. This is how I make my lentils. You can change the type of lentil you use to give the dish a different flavor. You can simply eat the lentils on their own, with rice, with whole wheat Indian flatbread (rotis), naan--or my favorite, french bread topped and baked with a homemade garlic butter spread! I hope you enjoy this dish!
